What fuels your passion for your daily work at the University of New Haven?
Knowing that me and my colleagues’ work helps students embrace learning and create a brighter future for themselves. After a long career in business, I’ve learned a great deal that I can pass on to my students to help them understand the real world of business that they’ll soon enter. I have also developed thousands of connections that have allowed me to serve my students in meaningful ways to find relevant guest speakers, internships, and mentors. It’s wonderful to see how hard they work at developing the skills that will make them valuable employees after graduation. I keep in touch with many former students who keep me updated on their successes. Everyone wants to leave a legacy – some positive influence in the world that you know you’ll be leaving behind one day. I consider these students a part of my legacy.
What inspires you to “Fuel the Innovation” within the University?
Many, if not most, of the students I work with have part- or full-time employment to help them pay for full-time employment to help them pay for their college education, in addition to taking a full schedule of classes. My donations to the University are just a token of my admiration for these young scholars. If I can help ease their financial burden then I feel that it is my duty to do so. I know that my colleagues in the College of Business feel the same way.
