Marge and I value education, so when we prepared our estate plans, we decided to include gifts to the University of New Haven as well as the other universities we attended, says Mac Clarke ’63 SED, a retired chemical engineer at Olin Corporation. We learned that our retirement accounts are the best assets to use for our charitable legacy gifts because the universities will receive our IRA gifts tax-free, and we can leave other assets to our daughters.

I chose to designate our legacy gifts for the Marjorie A. Clarke Endowed Scholarship Fund for Community Psychology in memory of Marge and the studies that led to her fulfilling career as an alcohol and drug counselor, he continues. I want to help future graduate students have similar educational opportunities.
